The blue you're seeing is the colour that's replaced by the video
overlay. Wherever that blue is on the screen will be replaced by the
video playing. You'd get the same thing if you made your desktop
background that colour.
Windows will do the same with the default options set. An interesting
aside - to take screenshots of a video playing in RealPlayer (possibly
others as well) under windows, disable video acceleration. This will
turn off the video overlay functions and force the player to write the
video to the window itself. This means that you can take a shot of
the video window playing and get the video contents as well.
