Does that mean "Maori language support" as in 'does
macrons', or "Maori langauge support" as in 'you can
actually have your menus etc. in Maori'?

I have a sneaking suspicion that you can't do the
latter, but will be happy to be proved wrong. Macrons
were added along with Unicode support, and there have
been some improvements (default keyboard layout) since
then. But this just means you can type in the
language; it doesn't give you the option to have the
UI for the OS or common apps in Maori.

At least under Linux one is free to develop, e.g.,
Maori i18n for OpenOffice and other apps, plus the
kernel. This requires effort, but you don't need to
ask Microsoft if they will develop it for you.

Slightly Off-Topic: Back in the old days (pre-Windows
DOS), I used to have to upload character images to my
Epson dot-matrix (overwriting some of the graphics
chars in the top 128 chars of the the charset) to get
macrons. My word proc docs would look something like
'kei te p{rangi ahau ki te ako i te reo M[aori', and
the printer would have i-macron substituted for { and
a-macron substituted for [ in its ROM/RAM/whatever.
Man have we come a long way!

Cheers
Tony
