Given that you can buy a USR 56K external modem on trademe for $25.00, I
always recommend going for an external modem (assuming available serial
ports, of course). You know it is going to work, it is easy to configure, and
it is reliable; then you can concentrate your efforts on the fun things about
Linux. Plenty of other challenges in Linux :-)
