Hi Geraint. This is the first time i have had a home computer so i am pretty
naive and unsophistacated in all this.. and i have never used any form of
linux before. my other constraint is that not having a working modem i have
to search for answers durring hte day (at work) and then go home and try to
impliment them at night.
so i have this modem card thing that i plugged into the innards of the pc
(is this what you meant by 'plugging hte modem in?) and to save me having
to come back tomorrow all dissapointed and rather embarassed can we clear up
the run harddrake part. does that mean gointo the terminal window and type
'run harddrake' or 'harddrake' or is there a way to run it from the menu or
mandrake control centre.
i realise these are dumb questions and that there is probably a lot of
laughter out there but i am interested in getting this thing to work and can
bear a little riducule. my work was selling off its old pcs and so i got a
couple of P2s thinking i could be able to run linux on them and the kids
could email their grandparents. can you help keep the dream alive?
