I tried Ascent on a colleague's recommendation and for pretty much the reasons already cited.
I ended up getting a major run around over replacement of a faulty firewall/router.  After a month of being messed around, it necessitated a personal visit to secure my money back, despite assurances to the contrary :(
This incident of poor service has unfortunately just been repeated when another colleague had trouble getting replacement for faulty RAM modules.  His home machine was out of action for three weeks.
Needless to say I cannot recommend them, and suggest other local vendors (if indeed they have to be local).  YMMV.
