That list might be useful, but I think it's reasonable to assume that the 
problem is with his ISP, and is not a local problem?

I think the point is, he's having an issue with Orcon and he was hoping 
someone reading this list might know a bit more about the 'behind the 
scenes' workings of a NZ-based ISP or Telecom's DSL network. Perhaps such 
people might offer some advice on how to deal with his ISP. He realises 
it's not Linux related, but this is a *Wellington* Linux users list - it's 
sensible and valid to assume most people involved live in Wellington, and 
therefore NZ, don't you think?

He's just looking for some help. He's had a really rough time from both 
Telecom and Orcon that's dragged on for several months now. I suggested he 
contact this list because I had hoped there would be some people who might 
know how this stuff all works and offer some helpful advice.
