Shuttle provide some with the cases. Less viscous than some others I've used.
They also provide a copper shim to sit on top of the cpu & help eliminate the
air space away from the central cpu. If you do it properly there shouldn't be a
cooling problem.

The tension holding the heatsink on a cpu tends to squash unnecessary compound
away anyway, so any surplus just gets pushed aside (& makes a mess).... 


Is this really about Linux?  :-)
