Is there any equivalent with aterm or rxvt to 'xterm -xrm XTerm*titeInhibit:true'?

Because the default behaviour (using an alternative screen for programs like
less, etc) irritates me intensely.  But I can't see anything in the man pages
about this resource (or anything equivalent).
