Try Ctrl-Alt-F2 to get a console, login as root, then edit the
configuration file:
vim /etc/X11/XF86Config
or
vim /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Note that both use the binary-only nvidia driver, which may not be
included with your Mandrake distro (I have no idea, I'm just
guessing). Someone else from the list may be able to chip in here and
tell you how to install the driver on Mandrake.
At the very least, you should be able to change your driver to "svga"
with no options, which won't use all the flash nvidia features, but
should at least be able to display a desktop.
