[wellylug] X screen resolution

Before switching drivers, have a look at the logs:

/var/log/XFree86.0.log

Search for lines starting with EE, and you might find what the problem is.

Failing that, you could always attach the log to an email to the list
and one of us can try and spot what's going on. If you could attach
the output of lspci -v as well, that'd help.
