try 
 man startx
for info. I believe you can specify the window mgr on the startx command line, 
(so initially just try startx enlightenment - ) 
It gives some examples & as far as I know, being an X app rather than Linux, it
tends to be relatively distro independent. The man page should be right for
your distro anyway.
