Try creating ~/.xinitrc:

$ cat ~/.xinitrc
exec fluxbox


The X session terminates when this 'script' completes (i.e. fluxbox
terminates). You can use & and wait etc to do fancy things. Check
'xinitrc' on Google for ideas.
