I actually did edit the default-display-manager to stop kdm loading by
default - I just put "none" in there or something like that.
And you're right, that's not exactly what I meant. I was talking about the
way KDE is started when I run startx currently - if I just add a .xinitrc
file that loads Enlightenment, will KDE still try to start? I assume it
won't, but where does it say "only load KDE if there is no .xinitrc file"?
The X howto link that Brent posted looks like it might be useful for
tracking down the various steps X uses to load up, I'll have a closer look
at it tonight.
