Ubuntu is the current flavour of the day buy if you have been using 
Mandrake happily then I wouldn't rush to change.

The Ubuntu Hoary release is due any day now. If you like I could burn 
you off a 'Live' CD, thus you could try it on your system without having 
to overwrite your current Mandrake install.
