[wellylug] PHP & MySQL problem.

hi all,

I've got a problem with my webserver.

I was trying to use a new installation of my distro, and I got a problem
where I can view any php page, except ones which connect to the mysql
database.

any page which contains something like:
-----------
mysql_connect("localhost","root");
mysql_select_db("mydatabase");
-----------

will cause the page to appear white only.

If I try to access PHPMyAdmin, it says 'cannot load MySQL extension,'.


I'm using PHP 5.0.3 & MySQL 4.1.13.


any help? Has the MySQL connection command changed or something?
