Yes but I wanted to make sure anyone else reading your response as a 
source of assistance was aware that it might not be correct. I didn't 
ask the original question, after all. I didn't want to presume you were 
wrong but I suspected you might be. Who's to say you had it right and my 
understanding was incorrect? After all, another confirmed your response 
and he was wrong too.

I'm not trying to show you up or cause an argument - I was just pointing 
out something that looked wrong in the hope that nobody got confused by 
it, while leaving open the possibility that I might have been wrong.

It's not my style to say "no, that's wrong, use > instead" but I can see 
how that would eliminate any misunderstanding, at the risk of making 
myself look foolish if I'm wrong (which happens a fair bit, hence my 
caution).
