I have no problems with what you posted. I, in fact, would have had no 
objections whatsoever to a correction, or to any suggestions that present 
a better, easier, or more elegant answer. I am still very much in the 
process of learning about shell scripting, and all corrections are 
welcome.

At least two usable answers were posted in the thread, and more than one 
person learned something in the process. :o)
