Thinking and knowing are 2 different things - you are in suck-it-and-see

If you do decide to go ahead pants-down and no CPU fan, I would caution against
a small heatsink, though. Try Quay or Infinite for some old P4 heatsinks to
chop about to miss the caps, or check out Jaycar electronics for new. Whatever
you pick, make sure they are heavily finned!
I am still having trouble justifying the cost/effort on this one. I reckon you
could spend a heap on mixing new case and old parts and end up with something
thats not significantly better/quieter. My advice is if you do have 'loads of
other machines' lying about, why not mix and match from those? Failing that,
scam bits from friends/colleagues/trade me.
