Now that's just plain weird, I have never heard anyone use the term 
"kibi" nor seen the abbreviation Ki (and I deal with computer 
documentation and data communications tech notes on an almost daily basis).

I guess it shows that there are always things to learn, but to me a 
'kilo' in computer terms will always mean 1024 and I have yet to read 
anything in documentation to suggest otherwise.
 
Can we agree to disagree on this one?
