Personally I think it's a matter of not-so-common courtesy. Ewen provides us
with a free service, subject to his preferences. Sounds reasonable. It's his
service. On the list and at LUG meetings there have been a large majority who
have expressed their appreciation of his service & agreed to abide by his
rules.
A few selfish freeloaders who want to use it seem to believe it is their's to
do whatever they want with & get all up tight because his preferences are not
theirs? Pretty sad individuals IMHO, maybe they'd be better off on MSN?.
Easy solution, if you don't like the conditions, don't use it. Anyone is free
to run their own list with their own rules where they can waffle on about
whatever they like.
I'm more than comfortable with Ewen's approach, & I think he's done a lot more
for the LUG than some of the precious whiners who seem to hang around the list
occasionally.
& that didn't "just slip out", it is my honest opinion :-)
