Under Windows, Ipods appear as regular USB mass storage devices,
although the MP3s are stored with mutilated filenames in hidden
directories.
I'd assume that you'd have no problems attaching and mounting it in
Linux, as long as you're just wanting to use it as a usb hard disk and
not add music to it.
As an aside, the latest version of Crossover Office
(www.codeweavers.com) claims to support running Itunes, so you may be
able to get your music copied onto it after all. :)
