It would depend on the hardware to a certain extent.
If I was free to pick the hardware I would feel comfortable putting 
together a
LAMP/Tomcat Linux server in four/five hours.
If I was not free to pick hardware things could get difficult especially 
when it comes
to setting up network cards, SATA drives and RAID controllers with 
hardware that
are not fully Linux supported.

I have had a few situations where this has been the case as it has taken 
a long time
to get things running as the client refused to replace hardware (in this 
case the SATA RAID
controller) that just refused to work under any Linux distribution.
