[wellylug] Suse 10 & GCC

By default compilers are not installed.
Using Yast you should install make, c-devel and gcc.
If you select any one of those packages the dependency resolution  
routine should select everything you need to start compiling.
Just remember that the header packages for any library are usually  
separate to the library.
If you want to compile something that requires specific libraries  
make sure you install the respective -devel package for that library.
