[wellylug] Fedora Core 4 ... Known Modem issues ?

Hi Guys

Found FC 4 unable to detect / configure Modems 

( Specifically Dynalink "real"  serial modems that work just fine with FC 1 ) 

Google shows plenty of similar instances of this scenario  

Is anyone aware of a fix or workaround ?
