Likewise.

I just gave away a P100 with 96MB RAM and a 1.2GB HD which was
(happily) running a lightweight graphical install, complete with word
processor (Abiword/vim), browser (dillo/lynx) and e-mail client
(sylpheed/mutt). It fitted in < 300MBytes. I have also recently put
together a P400 with 96MB RAM and a slightly larger HD running KDE +
Firefox + Thunderbird + OpenOffice.org and, although slow to start OOo
the first time, it was perfectly acceptable. HD use was 1GB or so.

So I'm surprised at the recommended specs. Do the newbie distros
provide any option to limit what gets installed?
