Yes they do. But you are still typically having a fair bit of bloat there...
like Gnome or KDE centric, etc, and going through a list of of a 1000 or so
packages to omit what someone thinks you need is a pain.

I prefer installindg a distro of the hardware vintage. No, you won't get a
current setup, but the hardware won't support that anyway. Use a distro
designed to work on that hardware as a full install. Prob better for the user
as well.
They can't have any false hopes from trying the latest & greatest either :-)
