I have no reason to doubt that the file is corrupted, but this statement 
did make me think about something not entirely unrelated.

I was wondering if the 'unzip' program has the ability to handle the 
'new' zip format that Winzip started using some time ago?

Does unzip handle these newer archives properly? Has anyone run into 
problems with them?
