[wellylug] Debian Etch / Best way to install software RAID

Hi,

I am trying to install software RAID 1 on two SATA disks using Debian Etch.
There is a host of info out there, but a lot seems out of date.

Does anyone here have recommendations on the best way to proceed?

What I've gleaned so far, is it appears to be best to do a straight forward
install on one disk. Then create a RAID array using mdadm (is there an
interactive way to do this, or can you only issue command line
instructions). Then you copy over the info from the partitions on disk one
to the second disk. After this you need to fiddle around to ensure that your
system will actually boot.

Cheers,

John
