Is the samba package installed on the machine?

I'm using Kubuntu Breezy.

When I right click on a folder, I can select 'properties'.  One of the tabs is 
labelled 'sharing;.  It informs me I'm not set up for sharing, and offers a 
button to let me set sharing up.

If something else happens for you, tell us what.
