[wellylug] House interior layout/design software?

Hi all,

As I sit here looking around my house (who in their right mind would
head out on today like today) there is 'stuff' I would like to do, but
it is hard without knowing what it'll look like in the end.  I'd rather
avoid the trial and error of deciding that the colour doesn't really
work or the new sofa (yeah, one that don't sag so much would be nice)
doesn't really fit properlike.

Has anyone come across any software for linux that can be used to
(re)design the interior of a house?  You know change the colour of the
walls, drag the furniture around, the effects of light etc.

I suppose if I was really onto it I could go down the path of using
blender or some other 3d modelling software but something specific to a
house I imagine could do a better/easier job.
