My Novell friends would say those were features :-)

Most probably it was a bad server/client installation rather than  
completely the client's fault.
I've seen a number of cases where Novell stuff (from Netware to  
Zenworks) has done funny things which can often tracked back to the  
initial setup.
With most software it either works or it doesn't, but Novell seem to  
have a knack of putting out stuff that looks like its working well  
when it ain't.

They even managed to pull that trick in OpenSUSE 10.1's package  
manager recently...
