I've been running the beta for a month or so now, and it seems to zoom
along quite nicely. If pretty is what you are after it seems a lot
prettier than the earlier versions.

The only real down side I have had is that the sound seems to cause
problems - but that may have been just from me trying to get skype
working properlike.

It seems that skype wants to use OSS for the sound and the default sound
system in most linuxes seems to be heading to ALSA. The 'adjustments' I
have made seems to cause other problems with things like Rythmbox, frozen-
bubble, Unreal Tournament 2003 and of course skype. All these have
worked fine in the past (5.10) and have been a bit off and on in 6.06.

I think I'll remove skype and get the sound behaving properly. if that
don't work then I will get the install CD and install/upgrade from that.

What else are long weekends for? :-)

Ian
