I have an APC BackUPS Pro 280 that is feeding a P-II 500 (the 'server), a
P-III 1g , a Celeron 2g a single 17"CRT monitor, 8 port KVM, 8 port ethernet
switch, Motorola cable modem. Plus anything else that I plug in from time
to time .Output is definitely 230V, and it has 4 IEC sockets. I put a
matching IEC plug onto the cable from a 4 way multiboard.

This will keep all things alive for about 5- 8 minutes. It has a serial
output but APC serial cables are specials, although there is a lot of info
around about rolling your own.

Batteries are user replaceable and this can be done with the power on. Not
sure what these cost as this was being thrown away as faulty (the circuit
breaker would not latch on)

Nut *apparently* supports APC under linux but I'm still trying to work that
out http://lwn.net/Articles/52285/
