I'm afraid a "sob story" about how noble the cause (supposedly) is doesn't
excuse (apparently deliberately) breaking the list rules.  Your post was
both off topic, and advertising, and we definitely do regularly remind
people _not_ to post advertising to the list.  (There are enough fora
filled with advertising already, alas.)

The list manager (Jeremy) and I are both happy to discuss borderline
cases, in advance of any posting, and clarify whether they're
appropriate or not (or suggest ways to word them so that they're more
appropriate).  (FTR, I received no such email in this case.)
