Hmm...

Add to this:

What kind of value do new(ish) members get from WellyLUG?
What do we provide well?
                   poorly?
                   not at all?

If you've only started attending meetings or joined the list in the last 6
months or so, have you found it of value? Do you think it likely you'll still
be involved in another 6 months?

If not, why not?

For example, all the presentations I've seen in the last year or so are on
specialised topics and (at least IMHO), not generally useful to someone
starting off with Linux. The presentations seem to cover topics someone wants
to talk about, which may be very different to what others want to hear :-)

The question David asked above was addressed at more experienced users. I think
we need to ask the less experienced users what they would like as well.

The problems faced 3-4 years ago may be very different to those faced by people
starting with current distros. (If they aren't, the Linux/Open Source community
hasn't progressed much!)

Do members new to Linux find the current types of presentation being offered
useful, if not, what would you prefer?

We seem to provide specific help where we can for people turning up with
specific problems, but I don't think we provide anything more general.

Would something like a demo install from scratch be of interest? How to
play/manage music tracks? ....

These are often trivial for experienced users, but may be difficult or
frustrating for someone starting off.

Is general Linux installation these days a breeze, so no help/advice/
presentation is useful?

So, start asking, if you have an area you want to learn more about!

Is there a topic anyone would like discussed/presented?
Would a demonstration or workshop on something be of interest?

Or is everything just perfect as is?

Cheers

   Brent
