Well, there is a list for the purpose of that sort of advertising --
wlug-trade.  And Ewen, who very kindly hosts the main wellylug lists
for us, doesn't seem keen on advertising being on the list.  The
choices are presumably (1) don't post advertising or (2) find another
person to host the lists.

What I'd like to see is
* people to actually read the list rules and not post advertising
* people who don't run the list to refrain from trillions of follow-ups
  about the advertising policy it
