[wellylug] 3Ware 8000 Series RAID Cards

Hi All

I'm looking for some advice.

I'm currently building a new server machine for home using a Intel SCB2
(Dual Pentium 3) motherboard.

I'm looking a purchasing a 3Ware 8000 series (4-port) SATA RAID card
(http://www.3ware.com/products/serial_ata8000.asp). Has anyone used one of
these cards? Is there native support in the Linux kernel for said card? The
kernel I'm looking at using is 2.6.x

I won't purchasing the card for a couple of months (funds allowing etc), so
I have time for some research etc.
