Used these for a few years (well, the IDE versions initially). Note that
they are true hardware RAID, and therefore don't really need much
challenging support from the kernel.
However, they have good support through the 3xxx module, have a decent
monitoring daemon that sends useful emails when events happen, and also
ships with a good operator-level http gui, that allows most tasks
(especially useful when coupled with a hot-swap caddy, and a local user
in charge of backups)
I've also played with the Intel card (can't remember the number, but it
was also true hardware RAID and supported under Linux) -- the daemon was
equivalent, but the operator toolset was much more difficult to use.
