If you're talking about a situation where a person is looking to purchase
a service from a company somewhere and is asking for WellyLuggers who
happen to own such businesses, or who are employed in such businesses, to
pipe up and promote their own company... then, IMHO, that definitely
should be on the spa... err... "advertising" list.
I think that the key questions are:
is is something being solicited or promoted in any way as being available
for sale, or available to be purchased, or is likely to lead to something
else being available for sale or to be purchased?
OR
Is a member making something available that can be used by WellyLUG, or by
other members of WellyLUG, that can be reasonably seen as furthering
WellyLUG's aims?
While I personally don't have a lot of space for storing huge quantities
of spare hardware (altho' I have more space than I used to last year),
given that I live directly behind Eagle house I *could* possibly store
some working hardware that is to belong to WellyLUG and to be used by
WellyLUGgers for educational purposes either at LAN Place or taken home.
I mean, how better to learn about networking than to have a second
computer available? Especially if you wouldn't need it for more than a few
weeks or months?
Personally, I keep coming back to the question: of what benefit is this to
WellyLUG?
Cheers
David
