Hi all,

Has anyone here used Asterisk in a medium sized install ?

What I want to do is this

I have a decent PABX with all the features I need and I want to use VoIP
as an LCR (Least cost route) is it possible to hook Asterisk to an
external box ? so it works like so :

Current PABX -> Asterisk -> VoIP -> Other End

A few questions. 

1.) Is it possible to use Asterisk as a VoIP Gateway and hook it to my
current PABX ? 
2.) if so what hardware do I need ? 
3.) what if any VoIP providers are there out there ?
4.) is there a better way to do this ?
