Ok The laptop does not have a button to turn the laptop wifi card on at 
all. When I first installed Xandros the wireless network card was 
working fine. It was what I used to download Service pack 2 off the 
internet. Once it was all installed I was asked to restart the computer. 
It was from then that the wireless card stopped working

Sorry about my terminolgy as I am new to linux

The type of network card is

pro/wireless 2200bg
kerneldrivers ipw2200
