Presumably you mean one that works well in Linux... :)
I've never had too much problem with Atheros chipsets - these are
handled by the madwifi driver which has been folded into most recent
distributions.
Beware of Broadcom chipsets (from bitter experience) - they work, but
usually only by using ndiswrapper and appropriate Win32 drivers... a
PITA to set up and not exactly ideal even when it is working.
It also depends which distro you're running. After faffing with wireless
support in RHEL4, Fedora 4 and 5, Suse 10 and Ubuntu Dapper, I have to
say that Suse and Ubuntu are both far ahead of the others.
