The UDAI is used to validate you are entitled to move the domain from one
registrar to another. It shouldn't be necessary for any other domain name
changes (including DNS record changes.)
Feel free to contact me off-list with specifics and I can probably help.
The details are slightly different depending on your registrar's
individual systems...
