Hi,

I'd tend to recommend NX Server and NX Client, from www.nomachine.com as they
are quite fast and suitable for remote access over the internet. It run's
over SSH which is also encrypted.

Regarding connecting to your computer at 10.1.1.4 from the internet, you will
need to configure your modem/router, to port forward / pin hole traffic on
the port that rdesktop uses, to that specific machine, and then connect to
your routers external IP address remotely.

You may need some more specific details, however, I'd need more information
about your network setup before I could provide them.
