Hello,
you can copy from Windows to Linux using graphical applications.
I'm using WinSCP for that.
http://winscp.net
A problem is sometimes the other direction. Since Windows 2000 server a
FTP server is available via default. If you want to install an SCP
server I recommend downloading X-Win Pro (http://www.xwinpro.com/). X-
Winpro is my favorite X-Server for Windows.
In the package is an SSH server included which is not limited and not
required to buy a license for use.
If installed an FTP or SCP server you can use the Midnight Commander
(MC) at a Linux console (just type mc and you get a Norton Commander for
Linux at the most distributions. If not install the Midnight Commander
for Linux.)
I think complexity of copying files does not depend on a protocol it
depends on applications. And probably you do not have the best ones in
use.
kind regards
Gerald
P.S. Microsoft uses the so called NBT protocol. This means NETBEUI via
TCP/IP. You mustn't install an extra NETBEUI if using Windows in a
TCP/IP environment. But you must allow NBT.
