Your question doesn't make sense. An ADSL modem may or may not support
the standards used in NZ, but the fact it is connected via USB is
irrelevant to that.
Also, the presence or absence of USB drivers for the ADSL modem under
Linux is pretty much irrelevant to the country of operation -- and
definitely to the ISP.
Anyway, some USB connected ADSL modems will work with Linux by way of
exporting the raw ATM stack to your Linux system. That makes it
considerably more tricky to get things working.
You would probably be better off purchasing a modem that supports
Ethernet.
