But that kind of issue can commonly be avoided if you decide 
not to buy the latest and greatest in "bleating edge" (yes, I
typed it like that on purpose) hardware .... that said, what
people advertise as SATA RAID commonly isn't anything actually
implemented in hardware to begin with.
