I agree about avoiding the bleating edge: basically all I could get from PB Tech _was_ 
bleating edge. And it was software RAID I was using, but most distros I tried simply 
couldn't cope with the SATA drivers on the motherboard in any shape or form, but ones that 
did would often have problems when trying RAID. I never found why, just went for a distro 
that worked. And now I'll probably use PATA drives for the next boxes.
