Be aware with TC cable that they dont peer on the wix, if you access wix
peered stuff in Wellington you will be going via Auckland. And for some
select things on citylink you will be accessing them from the states (eg:
ftp.nz.debian.org ).

Also cable is not immune from outages, TC cable connections were
inaccessible from the rest of NZ from 4am till 12pm just last monday (fault
was in the core).

There are some(?) smaller ISP's that do resell Telstra cable, one being
