We have a stock of USB keys that have been donated by Dick Smiths already.

Brent has also organised another class to present Linux, running on a
different evening. My feeling is that this OOo course should stick to
Windows as the base operating system, therefore reducing the number of
new things the students have to learn, and steering well away from the
"but my printer doesn't work" issues they may bring from home
otherwise.

Quite right - this is not a qualification based course. I haven't seen
the ICDL stuff yet, but I suspect that grabbing the structure and
introductory materials would go well.
